In a few lucky communities across the country, home values have actually risen in 2009, which is good news for the restaurateurs putting down roots in the areas. It also could indicate the future growth regions for emerging chains.
In Fayetteville, N.C.—the top U.S. city for selling a home, according to ABC News—95% of homes sold for a gain in the past year. Below are ABC News' top 10 home-seller's markets, based on changes in home and property values, the percentage of homes that have sold for a gain in the last year and the difference between list prices and selling prices. Also noted is the change in each area's median home value since August 2008.
