Fazoli's Celebrates 20th Anniversary with $2.99 Baked Spaghetti

-- Restaurants & Institutions, October 28, 2009

(PRESS RELEASE) Lexington, Ky.: In 1989, amid citizen rebellions in Eastern Europe and China, Fazoli's started its own Italian Revolution in Lexington, Ky. by serving affordable pasta meals to the hungry masses. The revolution quickly spread to other cities. In honor of the chain's 20th anniversary, participating Fazoli's restaurants are rolling back to $2.99 the price of Baked Spaghetti.

From now until November 30, a family of four can gather around a Fazoli's table, enjoy two Baked Spaghetti entrees, two kids' meals, all-you-can-eat breadsticks and drinks for well under $20. Fazoli's latest dining deal also is available for carryout and at the drive-through.

For those craving more than one Fazoli's favorite, Pick a Pair for $4.99 offers a solution. Guests can mix half portions of a specialty pasta and a classic pasta for a revolutionary price. The Pick a Pair offer is available at participating Fazoli's through January 10, 2010.

"Fazoli's 20th anniversary is a wonderful time to celebrate our heritage of serving fresh, high-quality ingredients at a great value," said Cathy Hull, Fazoli's chief marketing officer. "And with Baked Spaghetti at just $2.99, families now can afford to dine out or stop by Fazoli's drive-through even more frequently."

Should conversation lag during dinnertime, parents can nostalgically recall what they were doing 20 years ago when Fazoli's opened. It was a year when Nintendo released the first Game Boy system and "The Simpsons'" first full-length episode aired on Fox. On the world stage, citizens felled the Berlin Wall, students protested in Tiananmen Square, and the Exxon Valdez oil spill created environmental havoc in Alaska.

If the kids need more contemporary references, remind them that singers Sanjaya Malakar, Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift are all as old as Fazolis.

Fazoli's reminds guests to regularly visit www.freespaghetti.com for special deals that change often.
