Long-established full-service chains are opening new concepts aimed at giving consumers the grab-and-go convenience of a fast-casual experience. Recently hatched:

IHOP Cafe: Glendale, Calif.-based IHOP’s fast-casual entry forgos large platters of food in favor of silver-dollar pancakes and Mini Melt sandwiches as well as specialty beverages and more. One unit is open in San Antonio.

Friendly’s Express: Menu favorites from Wilbraham, Mass.-based Friendly’s will be featured at the Express concept, expected to open its first unit soon in Mansfield, Mass.

Uno Due Go: Boston-based Uno Chicago Grill has two Uno Due Go units open in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The menu focuses on freshly made, more-healthful selections, including all-natural flatbreads and under-550-calorie wraps.

Denny’s Fresh Express: Housed within existing locations of Spartanburg, S.C.-based Denny’s, Fresh Express offers breakfast, lunch and snack items and free WiFi. Three units are open in Texas.
