Stephen J. Caldeira is leaving The Elliot Leadership Institute, of which he was a co-founder, to join Dunkin’ Brands in the newly created post of executive vice president, global communications and chief public affairs officer.
Succeeding Caldeira as president and CEO of the Tarrytown, N.Y.-based Elliot Leadership Institute will be Joleen Flory, currently executive vice president for human resources and training at Minnetonka, Minn.-based Famous Dave’s of America. She assumes her new post on Oct. 3, 2007, following Caldeira’s departure. He officially joins Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin’ Brands on Oct. 29, 2007, but he will continue to serve on The Elliot Leadership Institute’s board and will chair a newly created sponsorship committee.
“We are extremely grateful to Steve for his outstanding leadership and contributions over the past three years, and we wish him the very best in his new position,” said Alice Elliot, co-founder, chairman and CEO of the institute, which develops programs for executive leadership development in the foodservice industry.
Of Flory’s appointment, Elliot said, “Joleen is a recognized leader in the human resources and training arena and a talented executive making her the perfect choice to take the reins of this rapidly growing organization. Given Joleen’s unwavering commitment to and familiarity with the institute, we expect a smooth and seamless transition.”
Prior to joining the Elliot Leadership Institute in December 2004, Caldeira was vice president of industry relations for PepsiCo Inc. Earlier, he had served as president and chief operating officer of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation in Chicago, and was senior vice president of communications and marketing for the National Restaurant Association in Washington, D.C
