Ivy Idea
-- Restaurants and Institutions, 8/1/2008
More than 8,000 students at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (Ivy '08), took advantage of Dining Services' Midnight Buffet in May. The longstanding tradition, which keeps all four campus dining-commons areas open until midnight, “is a great way to say thank you to our customers and to reduce stress during exam time,” says Ken Toong, director of dining services. Over the years, gourmet pizza, omelets and a fresh-fruit-and-yogurt bar have been added to the late-night menu, Toong says, but finals-weary students still clamor for comfort foods such as burgers, chicken tenders and chocolate-peanut-butter cheesecake.
