Blogging the NRA Show Blogs
![]() |
The 2009 NRA Show is over, and as everyone files new contacts into their e-mail software systems, we thought we’d take a look back at what was said about the show. Apparently, quite a bit. The blog Pyreus counted at least 3,500 blog postings covering the show.
What were they saying? Here, the buzz from the floor.
Anyone who was on the show floor must have noticed that there was a little more elbow room than there has been in the past. Here’s what Menu Pages Chicago had to say about attendance.
Gapers Block Contributor Alan Lake also noticed the drop in attendance. He covered the show while trailing Chef Michel Nischan.
Still, there was some of the usual flash, from magazine events and wine tastings to Korean cook-offs, shown in this list from The Food Channel.
And more Korean food buzz: Blogger Jackie Kolber takes a video tour of the show floor and captures coverage of a Korean barbecue preparation (including the use of gigantic wooden spoons).
Wooden spoons aside, Blogger Peter Romeo found these parts of the show surprising. (Hint: one of the surprises was the number of people who were there to do some serious business.)
Of course, we couldn’t have a “blogging the blogs” post without a big nod to social media. Chicagofoodies.com discusses how Billy Dec, Dunkin’ Donuts and Krystal use social media tools.
And what happened outside of the show floor? A 13-year-old received a lot of attention at Alinea, for one, according to Menu Pages.
