The Foodservice Training Portal
The
Foodservice Training Portal
offers several ready-to-use courses designed specifically for restaurants, bars, hotels, country clubs and institutional feeders to immediately begin training employees on key concepts.
Basic Food Safety
Basic Food Safety
is non-management general food safety education. The course is composed of over 90 pages of comprehensive food safety information (in English & Spanish) with an approximate run-time of 1 hour (four 15-minute lessons). The lessons cover the following topics: Foodborne Illness, Personal Hygiene & Handwashing, Time & Temperature and the Food Flow Process, and Contamination & Sanitation.
The program is designed to educate a rotating, multi-level staff with varying degrees of background knowledge and has been written on an 8th grade reading level for ease of use with all employees.
There is an interactive glossary of food safety-related terms for reinforcement of key concepts as well as overviews of case studies & recent critical incidents. Constructed for the individual learner, the program's pace and remediation are based on the trainee's needs. The program concludes with a 20-question randomized, graded assessment and personalized, printable certificate of achievement.
Basic Food Safety 3.5 was designed in conjunction with the 2005 FDA Food Code for safe food handling and preparation and is aligned with all state programs for managerial certification.
