Schools Offer Free Summer Meals
Every weekday, all summer long, Pittsfield, Mass., public schools serve breakfast and lunch free to all children through age 18 at Conte Community School, Morningside Community School and Dower Square Village Housing. The program, in its 31st year and growing, provides the free meals at schools where summer school classes are held and whose students would normally be eligible for free or reduced price lunches during the school year.
