St. Paul Slashes Fee for 4 a.m. Bar Closing--Just in Time for GOP Convention
With the 2008 Republican National Convention less than two weeks away, St. Paul, Minn., officials have struck a deal to reduce to $500 the $2,500 city fee allowing bars to stay open until 4 a.m. Numerous bar owners complained the $2,500 fee was prohibitively expensive, pointing out that just a handful of St. Paul bars ponied up the cash.
