Tyler Florence Brought in to Revamp Copia
The last several months have seen a series of changes for Copia: The American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts in Napa, Calif. Now there's another one. Menu Trends: Chefs Create New Takes on Kid Classics
Chicago's leading chefs are creating kid classics with a twist. The dishes sound ordinary enough--root beer, grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken nuggets, peanut butter and jelly. But the root beer is homemade. The grilled cheese is a wafer with a shot of tomato soup. The chicken nuggets are tucked in a wrap with ranch dressing and barbecue sauce. Sportscaster, Operator Team for Broadcasts on Restaurant Web Site
Starting next week, a daily, two-hour sports show starring broadcaster Mike North will stream live on the Web site of Rich Melman's Wildfire restaurants. "What Rich Melman is paying me to do is what the Las Vegas Hilton pays Barry Manilow to do," the hot-dog-vendor-turned-sports-talker explained. "He wants people to visit the Wildfire Web site." Late Julia Child Inspires Big News, Big Bucks
For someone who died four years ago, Julia Child makes a lot of headlines. Last month, the National Archives confirmed that, during World War II, "The French Chef" helped concoct a top-secret shark repellent.
